San Antonio kept alive their playoff ambitions last week, with a huge win improving them to 2-4.

The Brahmas got off to a rough start as they blew a big lead late on to lose their XFL debut, 18-15 at home to St Louis.

They rebounded a week later with a 30-12 victory at Orlando, but then went on to lose their next three games.

San Antonio lost 22-13 in Houston and 15-6 in Seattle, before returning home for a 12-10 defeat to Arlington.

The Brahmas were able to avenge that loss a week later however, beating the Renegades 15-9 to close the gap between the two teams to just one game.

Vegas Vipers Form

Vegas’ playoff dreams were all but shattered by last weekend’s one-sided loss that dropped them to 1-5.

The Vipers opened the season with a 22-20 defeat in Arlington that saw Luis Perez throw two pick-sixes in the second half to throw away a lead.

They then fell to an 18-6 to DC in their home opener, before surrendering a late lead to lose 30-26 at home to Seattle.

Vegas then fell to 0-4 with a 32-18 defeat in DC, but a week later they finally got off the mark as they won a shootout with Orlando, 35-32.

The Vipers were unable to build on that win though, losing 29-6 to St Louis in their penultimate home game of the season.

Verdict

The scoreboard operator is unlikely to be kept busy in this one.

Aside from the meeting with 0-6 Orlando, every one of San Antonio’s games this season have been low-scoring affairs.
