The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) is back in Toronto for its second edition, following the successful debut of the series in the spring of 2024.

The much awaited WSOP Circuit Toronto 2025 kicked off on 10 April at the Great Canadian Casino Resort, which remains the exclusive venue for all WSOP-branded events in Ontario.

This is a result of the ongoing partnership with GGPoker, the current owner of the World Series of Poker brand.

Scheduled to take place from April 10 to April 22, the 2025 WSOP Circuit Toronto is set to feature 11 official gold ring events. Organizers anticipate the overall prize pool to exceed CAD 6.5 million.

This report provides a detailed breakdown of the event schedule, structure of the Main Event, registration requirements, and qualifiers. Further updates will be issued as more information becomes available.

Tournament Schedule for WSOPC Toronto 2025

The series will run over a 13-day period, from April 10 through April 22. Compared to the previous edition, the 2025 schedule has been expanded by three events, bringing the total number of ring-awarding tournaments to 11. Buy-ins for the events range from C$300 to C$3,500. New additions to the tournament lineup include:

  • C$300 Ladies Event – April 11
  • C$400 Seniors Event – April 15
  • C$800 Mystery Bounty – April 14–15

The C$2,000 Main Event does not carry a published guarantee, but expectations suggest the final prize pool will exceed C$3 million.

Similarly, the C$3,500 High Roller is projected to generate a prize pool of approximately C$1.1 million, according to early estimates by the organizers.

Players intending to participate must hold a Great Canadian Rewards membership, which is mandatory for registration and entry into any WSOPC Toronto event.

WSOP Circuit Toronto 2025 Main Event

The Main Event of the 2025 WSOP Circuit Toronto is scheduled to begin on April 17 and conclude on April 21.

The tournament has a buy-in of C$2,000 and is expected to generate a prize pool above the C$3 million mark, based on the turnout in the previous year.

There will be three Day 1 flights on April 17, 18, and 19. Survivors from these initial sessions will return for Day 2 on April 20. The tournament will conclude with the crowning of a champion on April 21.

Projections for participation are influenced by the 2024 Main Event, which attracted 1,600 entries and created a C$2.8 million prize pool, exceeding the original forecast.

Review of WSOP Toronto 2024

The inaugural WSOP Circuit Toronto took place from March 22 to April 1, 2024, at the same venue. The 2024 schedule featured eight ring events, including the C$2,000 Main Event.

The series drew more than 6,000 entries across all events. Of these, 324 players earned their seats via online qualifiers hosted by GGPoker and its Ontario-specific platform.

The total prize pool for the series exceeded C$5.5 million, surpassing initial estimates of C$4 million.
The 2024 Main Event registered 1,600 entries and generated a C$2.8 million prize pool.

Capacity limitations at the venue prevented the total number of entries from going higher. Khaled Aljoma secured the Main Event title and a top payout of C$427,191. The tournament saw 240 players make the money, with the minimum cash set at C$2,948.

WSOP Toronto’s Growing Significance

The return of the WSOP Circuit to Toronto in 2025 further establishes the city as a prominent location on the global poker map.

With an expanded schedule and the introduction of new event formats such as the Ladies Event, Seniors Event, and Mystery Bounty, the upcoming series aims to build on the success of the 2024 edition.

The Main Event, with a projected prize pool of over C$3 million, remains the centrepiece of the series. The availability of online qualifiers through GGPoker and GGPoker Ontario continues to increase access for players across multiple regions.

The ongoing partnership with Great Canadian Casino Resort ensures continuity in hosting and logistics for future WSOP Circuit events in Ontario.

Given that participation requires a Great Canadian Rewards membership, players are encouraged to secure their registration well in advance.

With increasing prize pools, a broader event structure, and consistent player turnout, the 2025 WSOP Circuit Toronto is positioned as a major stop on the tour’s calendar.
