Latest Next Cabinet Minister To Leave odds

Bookmaker Ladbrokes on Thursday further shortened its odds on Robert Jenrick being the next Cabinet Minister to leave his post.

The bookies had revealed on Wednesday that odds on the Housing Secretary being the next Cabinet member to leave had been halved from 6/1 at the weekend to just 3/1 - having been as big as 20/1 earlier this month.

But on Thursday morning, Jenrick was the clear favourite to be the next Cabinet Minister to leave, available at just 6/4 at time of writing.

The row centres around a 1,500 home development in East London, and the big move in the betting comes as pressure grows on Mr Jenrick to publish documents relating to a controversial planning decision which he approved less than two weeks before the developer - the former Daily Express owner Richard Desmond - gave £12,000 to the Conservative Party.

Mr Jenrick insists he did nothing wrong.

The latest market moves see him now streets ahead of Anne-Marie Trevelyan (6/1), Priti Patel (6/1) and Therese Coffey (6/1), while Gavin Williamson remains an 8/1 shot.

Ladbrokes spokesperson Alex Apati told FreeTips.com: "With pressure mounting on Robert Jenrick, he now looks a shoo-in to be the next Cabinet Minister to leave his post as far as the odds are concerned."
