Ladbrokes have slashed the odds on Rishi Sunak replacing Boris Johnson as leader of the Conservative Party.

The former Chancellor has made his bid to take charge of the Party official, ending months of speculation about his interest in becoming leader of the Tories.

As a result, Ladbrokes have responded by cutting his odds to just 7/2 to get the job, making him joint favourite alongside Ben Wallace.

“Whether you're #Ready4Rishi or it's #RishfulThinking, the odds suggest the former Chancellor has a great chance of finally getting Boris' gig,” Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati told FreeTips.com.

Elsewhere, Penny Mordaunt remains a 6/1 shot with Tom Tugendhat just behind at 7/1.
