Kemi Badenoch and James Cleverly are both weak in the latest Next Conservative Party Leader betting market, report William Hill.

After launching their leadership campaigns on Tuesday, Badenoch’s odds have lengthened from 13/8 to 7/4 following her announcement, while Cleverly has drifted out to 9/1 (from 4/1).

In contrast, Robert Jenrick on Wednesday morning shortened into joint-favourite with Badenoch at 7/4, having been 9/4 last week.

The Conservative Party leadership election was announced in early July when then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak declared his intention to resign as Tory party leader following his party's defeat at the 2024 general election.

The leadership race will end on November 2, when Mr Sunak's successor will be confirmed following the result of the party membership vote.

Six candidates are standing for the leadership, with Badenoch, Cleverly and Jenrick being joined by Priti Patel, Mel Stride and Tom Tugendhat. They will be eliminated in a series of votes, until two remain to stand in November.

The latest Next Tory Leader betting odds can be found below ahead of this week's first result which will see one candidate exit the leadership contest.
