Canterbury Bulldogs vs South Sydney Rabbitohs Predictions

It could be another tough night at the office for Canterbury Bulldogs who will be no match for the Rabbitohs. South Sydney can wrack up the points and make it a very Good Friday.

The Souths are tipped to cover a big handicap and are worth a small stake to not give up a single point given Canterbury's recent record. Under 42.5 is also predicted.

  • Canterbury Bulldogs have lost 11 of their last 12 matches.
  • Canterbury Bulldogs are 0-3 this season.
  • Canterbury Bulldogs have failed to score a point in their last 2 matches, and 3 of their last 4 matches.
  • South Sydney Rabbitohs have won 5 of their last 7 matches against Canterbury Bulldogs.
  • South Sydney Rabbitohs and Canterbury Bulldogs have seen the last 9 meetings hit 42 points or under.

Head to Head

South Sydney Rabbitohs have won five of the last seven clashes with the Canterbury Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs did cause a major upset in Round 19 last year with a 26-16 win over Souths. It was a result that ultimately saved them from the wooden spoon.

Canterbury Bulldogs Form

Canterbury Bulldogs failed to register a single point for the second game running when losing the battle of last year's bottom two last week to the Brisbane Broncos.

Trent Barrett's Bulldogs were extremely poor at Suncorp Stadium as they went down 24-0 to a Broncos side which had lost 13 straight.

Canterbury also failed to score a single point in a 28-0 defeat to the Penrith Panthers in Round 2. The Panthers also kept them pointless in the final game of last season.

The Bulldogs had started the season with a 32-16 defeat to Newcastle Knights and have the worst attack and third worst defence after three rounds.

Canterbury Bulldogs Team News

The Bulldogs have suffered a double blow with Jeremy Marshall-King injured and captain Josh Jackson suspended.

Marshall-King is out for up to two months with a foot injury with Sione Katoa replacing him and starting at hooker.

Lachlan Lewis has been named five-eighth in place of Jake Averillo, who drops down to the bench, and Renouf Atoni replaces Jackson.

In a reshuffle, Nick Meaney and Corey Allan swap roles. Jackson Topine and Dean Britt are added to the bench.

South Sydney Rabbitohs Form

South Sydney Rabbitohs have reacted well to losing their season-opening game 26-18 to defending premiers Melbourne Storm.

It is two wins from two since that opening night defeat.

Wayne Bennett's side were too good for Manly Sea Eagles in Round 2 as they won 26-12.

Last week against the previously unbeaten Sydney Roosters, the Rabbitohs really caught the eye with a 26-16 victory over the premiership favourites.

South Sydney Rabbitohs Team News

South Sydney name an unchanged side from the team that defeated the Roosters last week.

Prop Liam Knight remains unavailable due to concussion and Hame Sele (ribs), Taane Milne (knee), Braidon Burns (knee) and Blake Taaffe (ankle) are also out.
