Canterbury are certainly a team on the improve and have really looked dangerous over the last month or so getting three wins from five games and pushing both Melbourne and Penrith to a one-score contest, losing to Melbourne by 2 points and Penrith last week by six.

A lot can be said about their attack on the left side with a rejuvenated Matt Burton linking up with Villiame Kikau and Bronson Xerri.

What has impressed the most has been their attitude in defence and their ability to now play the territory game instead of always looking for flare to get them home.

Last week’s match against Penrith is the perfect example. Yes Cleary left the match and plays a big role in how the Panthers control the game, however, the Bulldogs drew dead-even with the Premiers in Possession and Territory and had almost identical attacking stats.
