The Raiders recovered from a 14-0 deficit, forcing extra-time after some outstanding lead-up work from Matty Nicholson put Kaio Weekes away, with the fullback bringing back memories of Billy Slater at Suncorp as he chipped & chased his way to a four-pointer.

It's been a dream start to the season for the Bulldogs, with the team putting together a 7-1 record to be flying high at the top of the table.

Canterbury's success has been on the back of some classic Cameron Ciraldo defence - they've conceded just 118 points across their eight games at an average of just 14.75 points per match.

However, the Dogs lost a bit of their aura over the last fortnight at Suncorp - they were absolutely pummelled 42-18 by the Broncos and I thought their attack was flat and clunky in their 38-18 win over the Titans - it was more Gold Coast's dreadful performance that contributed to the heavy scoreline.

Massive out for the Dogs as Jacob Preston was suspended for the next four weeks following his crusher tackle last week. A reshuffle in the pack will likely see either Kurtis Morrin or Harry Hayes come into the starting side.

In better news for Canterbury, five-eighth Matt Burton is back from his own suspension, with Bailey Hayward dropping back to the bench.
