Canberra Raiders vs Gold Coast Titans Predictions

Since Round 6, neither side has won any games against teams higher than the bottom 3. The Titans have fallen from a season high 4th place on the ladder down to 13th, while the Raiders have gone from 3rd down to 10th.

Both sides need a win in this game to stay in touch with the top 8 sides and home advantage should see the Raiders edge to victory.

  • Canberra Raiders have lost 3 of their last 4 matches
  • Canberra Raiders have scored 20+ points in a game 8 times in 2021, but have won just 4 of those matches
  • Canberra Raiders have won 7 of the last 10 matches against Gold Coast Titans
  • Canberra Raiders have won 7 of the 11 games against  Gold Coast Titans at GIO Stadium
  • Gold Coast Titans have lost their last 4 matches
  • Gold Coast Titans have won just 15 of their last 50 games away from home
  • Gold Coast Titans have conceded conceded 357 points in the last 10 games

There have been 26 games played between the Raiders and the Titans, with Canberra holding a tiny 14-12 advantage. However in their last 10 clashes, Canberra have won seven.

Canberra has also won seven of the 11 games against the Titans played at GIO Stadium.

Canberra Raiders Form

Canberra started the year solidly enough with three wins from their opening four games.

But they have fallen into a heap, constantly getting lapped after halftime in games and losing eight of their past 10 matches.

The Raiders defence has been patchy - rather solid in the first-half and rather non-existant in the second for too many matches this year.

They come into this match on the back of a loss to the St George Illawarra Dragons, who they lead 14-4 at halftime before losing 22-20 in a familiar story in 2021.

Canberra Raiders Team News

Corey Horburgh is still another 3-4 weeks away from a return from his wrist injury.

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad is out for the season with a neck injury, while Curtis Scott is unavailable due to disciplinary reasons.

On the upside Sebastian Kris, Harley Smith-Shields and more importantly Jarrod Croker are all returning from injury this weekend.

Croker’s return pushes Matthew Timoko to the reserves. Croker will be joined at centre by Kris.

Gold Coast Titans Form

Much like the Raiders' season, the Titans opened with a solid three wins from five games before they too won just two of their last 10 games.

Worryingly for the Titans, their defence has been atrocious. They have conceded 357 points in the last 10 games.

The Titans attack has shown several times already this year that it can pile on the points, producing six scores of 30 points or more.

Gold Coast Titans Team News

The Titans have just Greg Marzhew out of action. He is set to miss a month with an elbow injury.

Meanwhile, AJ Brimson, Corey Thompson and Beau Fermor are all set to be available this weekend.

Brimson returns at fullback for this clash, pushing Jayden Campbell to reserves. Thompson’s return covers for the injured Marzhew.

Kevin Proctor returns from his suspension, while Fermor and Sam Lisone are added to the bench.
