Canberra Raiders vs New Zealand Warriors Predictions

This Friday night clash is all about Jarrod Croker in what is going to be an evening of high emotion for the Raiders' long serving captain. At 2.95 it is hard to go past the fearless leader for anytime try scorer in his 300th game for the club.

I like the Raiders to go on with the job and win comfortably this week, covering the 4.5 points as favourites, although I see the trend of under the game points total continuing. The predictive model suggests that this game is likely to end 21-all, so a lazy unit on the draw could pay dividends.

  • Canberra have won 12 of their last 16 Friday night games since the beginning of 2019.
  • 9 of the Warriors 13 games have hit the UNDER Total Game Points
  • Since 2019, 70% of the Raiders Friday night games have gone UNDER the Total Game Points

Head to Head

Since 2019, the Canberra Raiders have got the better of the New Zealand Warriors, winning five of the eight games played between the two clubs.

They both recorded a victory each in 2022, although last time they met was at GIO Stadium and the Raiders won comfortably 26-14

Canberra Raiders Form

Canberra are unexpectedly one of the NRL’s most in-form teams winning seven of their last eight matches, most recently surviving a scare from the Tigers 20-19, after leading the game 18-0 with just 12 minutes left.

Defence has been the concerning factor for the Raiders, allowing the second most points on average in the league with 25.3. However, they manage to find what they need in attack to get the job done

Canberra Raiders Team News

Jarrod Croker returns in the centres for his 300th NRL game, moving Abert Hopoate to the wing and Nick Cotric to the bench.

Seb Kris (knee) returns, replacing Harley Smith-Shields at fullback.

New Zealand Warriors Form

After a blistering start to the season the Warriors have gone cold, winning just two of their last six, including a 30-8 victory over the Dolphins in New Zealand in round 14.

It was a much better performance last week against the NRL newcomers, with Andrew Webster's men focusing on their defensive game, as they did at the beginning of the season when they won five of their first seven games.

New Zealand Warriors Team News

Ali Leiataua will make his NRL debut at centre taking the place of Rocco Berry (concussion).

There is plenty at stake for the Raiders with Jarrod Croker celebrating his 300th game, which will give them the boost they need to win the low scoring clash, by more than the 4.5 points they need as favourites. Croker will play his part scoring his 136th try of his career. Throwing a unit on a draw is also worthwhile with the models predicting a tie.
