Canterbury Bulldogs vs Parramatta Eels Predictions

Traditionally matches between the Bulldogs and the Eels result in a blowout, usually to the Eels, but I am predicting a much closer battle this time around.

I expect points from both teams, but not enough to push the total above 43.5, which will keep this game closer than usual, resulting in a win by either team 1-12.

Josh Addo-Carr could be in the best try scoring form of his career and I expect him to put the burners on at some stage in this match and cross the line for a try.

  • 14 of the last 16 matches between the Bulldogs and the Eels have gone UNDER the game total.
  • 9 of 13 Eels games have resulted in a 1-12 margin
  • Canterbury’s last 5 matches have resulted in a margin of 1-12
  • Josh Addo-Carr has scored 6 tries in his last 6 games

Head to Head

Parramatta have a commanding record against their western Sydney rivals, beating Canterbury seven times in their last nine games, since the 2019 season.

The Bulldogs and the Eels faced each other in round 7, 2023, the Eels running home comfortable winners 30-4, after dominating with over 500 more run metres and winning the linebreak count four to two.

Canterbury Bulldogs Form

Canterbury sit well down the ladder in 15th with just five wins this season.

However, they have been improving over the last month with impressive performances against the Roosters, Titans, Warriors and Raiders, even if they ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard.

The Bulldogs have shown their brilliance in patches the last four weeks, but have been unable to put together a full 80 minute performance.

Canterbury Bulldogs Team News

Reed Mahoney (concussion) has been named at hooker, with Kyle Flanagan on standby.

Chris Patolo returns to the interchange after a lengthy period on the sidelines.

Parramatta Eels Form

Parramatta have looked much better defensively in their last two outings, allowing just 16 points in each of their games against Souths and North Queensland.

The Eels forward pack has lifted immensely recently, with the Eels averaging over 2000 run metres in their last two games, also recording six linebreaks in both matches.

Parramatta Eels Team News

Dylan Brown has found himself in a bit of off-field trouble and has been stood down. Daejarn Asi looms as his replacement which will be confirmed closer to kickoff.

Reagan Campbell-Gillard (groin) and Andrew Davey (concussion) will both return in the forward pack for the Eels.

I’m riding the trend of the under game points total between the Bulldogs and the Eels, but going against the recurrence of 13+ victories, taking either team 1-12 on Sunday. The Foxx is in fine form so I will jump on the Canterbury speedster for a try anytime.
