Canterbury were disappointing last week in their 20-24 loss against the Raiders, handing Canberra two early tries on a platter that put them on the back foot from the start.

Their attack became predictable again, launching the ball out to Kikau on the left edge which the Raiders had done their homework on.

The Bulldogs had looked to have turned a leaf before their loss to the Raiders, however, they were back to their old selves again with flat attack and relying on the kicking game of Matt Burton to spark something for them.

Their defence also let them down, which has been the most impressive part of their slight resurgence. Camaron Ciraldo will need to address these issues heading into this week.

The Saints did what they had to do against the woeful Bunnies, getting a 28-14 win over Souths before they took the weekend off and not participating in the Magic Round festivities.

Shane Flanagan has implemented a stronger culture in St George and it has shown in the improved performance of the Dragons to start the year.

The Saints have already taken five wins from 10 games which matches their win total from the whole 2023 season where they finish with a 5-19 record.

The defence of the Dragons has improved, however, the consistency will need to improve as they have had some serious lapses also this season as the 60-point belting they copped from the Roosters on Anzac Day.
