North Queensland Cowboys vs Canberra Raiders Predictions

These two sides haven't served up points fests in recent clashes, making under 40.5 some value in Townsville on Saturday.

Although the Raiders have a good record against the Cowboys, Canberra haven't been fluent this season. A -10.5 handicap might well be beyond them with the Cowboys tipped with a start.

  • North Queensland Cowboys have won their last 2 matches.
  • Canberra Raiders have lost their last 2 matches.
  • Six of the last 8 head to heads have had 42 points or less.

Head to Head

Canberra Raiders have had the best of things of late, winning four of the last five meetings against the North Queensland Cowboys. They have also won on their last three trips to Townsville.

The Cowboys haven't managed to top 12 points in any of the last five head to heads, with the Raiders covering in nine of the last 13 matches.

North Queensland Cowboys Form

Having started the season with four straight losses, the Cowboys find themselves 13th on the ladder with a 2-4 record.

Back-to-back wins over Wests Tigers 34-30 and Canterbury Bulldogs 30-18 last week have breathed life into the season for Todd Payten's side.

Although they scored four second-half tries of their own, the Cowboys will have been disappointed with the two tries conceded after the Bulldogs were reduced to 12 men.

North Queensland Cowboys Team News

The Cowboys have named an unchanged side following last week's win.

Jason Taumalolo is a week or two away from a return from a hand injury suffered in the opening game of the season.

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow (ankle) and Connelly Lemuelu (shoulder) remain sidelined.
