The Cronulla Sharks take on North Queensland Cowboys at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Sydney on Saturday. The Sharks have finals aspirations, the Cowboys have lost eight in a row with Cronulla expected to bounce back.

The Cronulla Sharks are holding onto 8th spot on the NRL ladder. The Sharks beat the Warriors 46-10, St George Illawarra 28-24 and Brisbane 36-26 before a tough loss 14-12 loss against Parramatta. 

They bounced back with a 30-18 win against the Titans but suffered a disappointing 38-12 defeat against the Panthers last week.

Cronulla were 16-0 down when Jesse Ramien scored and 38-6 down when Connor Tracey scored. The 13-9 error count and 6-3 ruck infringements didn’t help their chances.

Andrew Fifita is pushing to return from a broken finger after training with the top squad for almost two weeks. The Tongan prop has been sidelined since round nine.

Matt Moylan has been included on an extended bench after a disappointing defensive display against the Panthers.

North Queensland Cowboys Form


North Queensland Cowboys have had a poor season at 3-12 after 15 games. They have lost their last eight games including 42-4 against Parramatta, 42-16 against the Roosters and 30-10 against the Tigers.

The Cowboys went close in a 31-30 loss to the Rabbitohs before a 12-0 loss against Newcastle last week. It was the first time they failed to score all season.

Jason Taumalolo is expected to be out for four weeks with a calf strain. Gun hooker Reece Robson won't play again in 2020 due to a hamstring tear.
