So where has it gone wrong for Cronulla since the opening 10 rounds. For me, it has been their attack that has fallen away. Cronulla where strong up front and had speed through the middle which their backs took advantage of.

That hasn’t been the case in their past 8 games and if you take out the blowout win during that period against the Tigers, the Sharks have averaged just 17.71 points per game compared with the 28.2 points in attack in the first 10 matches.

Nicho Hynes has been injured and that has hurt them of course, unable to strike while they are in their opponents red zone.

Souths have fallen back into bad habits after their five game win streak, losing two of their past three after a 32.12 loss to Canberra in Jack Wighton’s return to the nation’s capital.

Defence was the problem for South in the beginning of the year averaging 34.8 points against in their first 10 games. They cleaned it up for a while but have now opened things up for their opposition again, allowing an average of 32 points against in their past three matches.

Their goal line defence has come under question again and the Rabbitohs don’t have the same hunger or organisation in defence when they are missing Latrell Mitchell from the lineup.

Horrible news for Souths fans with Alex Johnston now sidelined for the rest of the season. Fletcher Meyers will make his NRL debut in place of the prolific tryscorer.
