Dolphins vs Melbourne Storm Preview

The Dolphins have found some form over the last couple of games, but the Storm are dangerous in attack. Melbourne should have full control of this battle and claim a 13+ victory.

  • The Dolphins have never beaten the Melbourne Storm.
  • Melbourne have an average winning margin of 24 points this season.
  • Melbourne averages 36.8 points this season.
  • Ryan Papenhuyzen has scored in 3 straight games for Melbourne Storm.

Head to Head

The Dolphins are winless against the Melbourne Storm since their inception into the NRL, being handed their biggest loss against the Storm in 2024, going down 48-6 at AAMI Park, in Round 25.

Dolphins Form

The Dolphins have won their last 2 matches comfortably, after starting the season 0-4, with their latest, a 30-12 victory over the reigning Premiers the Penrith Panthers last Thursday night.

Despite their slow start to the year, Kristian Woolf has to be impressed with the way his side has defended, especially over the last two weeks, which has enabled him to unlock the team’s attack.

Dolphins are conceding just 19 points per game which is ranked 5th in the NRL with the side ranked in the top 10 in our key defensive categories.

Over the last two weeks the Dolphins attack has found its spark, scoring 36 against the Dolphins and 30 against the Panthers with fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow coming alive with 4 tries and becoming a threat all over the field once again.

Melbourne Storm Form

The Storm are a scary force in 2025 getting another monster win against the Warriors last Sunday, beating New Zealand 42-14 at AAMI Park.

Melbourne are averaging a league-high 36 points per game and are scoring tries from all over the field. The Storm rank 15th in the NRL in tackles inside their opponents 20m, however they have crossed for 31 tries, tied for the most with the Broncos.

Melbourne are unafraid to throw the ball around early and why would you with the most in-form halves in the competition.

Melbourne top the league with 6.6 linebreaks per game and are ranked third in the NRL in opposition run metres (1246/G).
