The Dragons have dominated Manly of late and another win for the Red V is predicted. The Sea Eagles have shipped more points than any other side in the opening two weeks and we should see a high-scoring game.

  • St George Illawarra Dragons have won their last 7 matches against Manly Sea Eagles in Wollongong.
  • Manly Sea Eagles have lost 10 of their last 11 matches.

Head to Head

The Dragons have had the measure of Manly in recent times, winning 18 of the last 26 clashes between the sides.

That run includes five of the last six match ups, the most recent being a 34-4 Dragons win last season.

The Sea Eagles haven't beaten St George in Wollongong in the last seven attempts dating back to 2003.

St George Illawarra Dragons Form

New coach Anthony Griffin earned his first victory in charge of the Dragons as they defeated North Queensland Cowboys 25-18 in Townsville in Round 2.

The hard-fought win, in which the Cowboys totalled 189 more metres than the Dragons, followed a 32-18 defeat to rivals Cronulla Sharks in Round 1.

The Dragons are one of only four teams to have concede 50-plus points in the opening two weeks of the season and improvements defensively will have been a focus this week.

The Dragons are unchanged from the side which defeated the North Queensland Cowboys last week.

Halfback Jayden Sullivan remains on the sidelines, but could return from a hamstring injury next week.

Manly Sea Eagles Form

Manly have had a tough start to the season with injuries and two defeats hitting the Sea Eagles hard.

They went down 46-4 to Sydney Roosters at the SCG in Round 1 and lost 26-12 at home to the South Sydney Rabbitohs last week.

As a result, Des Hasler's side rank worst in points scored and points conceded from the opening two rounds of the campaign.

The loss to Souths was a 10th defeat in 11 games for Manly.

Verdict

The Dragons should be too good for a Manly side which is in a bad rut. Both sides have been questionable defensively, so over the points total is predicted.
