Melbourne Storm vs Wests Tigers Preview

Melbourne are backed to put a score against the Tigers and get a 13+ victory. Papenhuyzen and Coates are obvious try scoring picks this week, but I like Eli Katoa to score.

  • Melbourne have won their last 7 games against Wests.
  • Melbourne are averaging 38 points per game at AAMI Park this season.
  • The Tigers have conceded an average of 28 points in their last three matches.
  • Back rowers have scored 5 tries in 3 games against Wests.

Head to Head

Melbourne have won their last seven matches against the Wests Tigers.

Three of the last four matches between Melbourne and Wests has gone Under the game total.

Melbourne Storm Form

Melbourne have been out of sorts of late, losing two of their last three matches with the latest a golden point defeat to the Raiders 20-18.

The Storm attack has been stagnant for their standards after averaging 36 points per game in the first five matches of the year to now just averaging 21 points in their last three games.

Melbourne were unstoppable from all over the field earlier this season attacking from deep in their own end but now need to get back to basics and work on lifting their rankings in ground statistics like run metres (8th), efficiency inside 20m (12th) and territory (9th).

Melbourne Storm Team News

The Storm are surprisingly unchanged after losing two of their last three matches.

Wests Tigers Form

The Tigers are chugging along nicely with three wins from their last four games after a nerve-racking 34-28 victory over St George last week.

There were some real worrying signs to come out of the victory against the Dragons and some old habits creeping into the Tigers game.

The Saints were able to break Wests’ line 11 times in the match which tallies to 21 times they have conceded a linebreak over the last 3 matches.

After being one of the best defensive teams in the comp to start the season, the Tigers have certainly lost that claim after conceding an average of 26 points per game in their last five matches.

Wests Tigers Team News

The Tigers are unchanged from the team that got the victory in Magic Round.
