New Zealand Warriors vs Parramatta Eels Predictions

New Zealand Warriors can put on a show and beat the struggling Parramatta Eels team by a comfortable 13+ margin on Friday.

  • Parramatta concede the 2nd most points of any team in the league at 29.2 per game.
  • The Eels also concede the most Linebreaks of all teams in the NRL at 6.8 per game.
  • New Zealand make the 2nd most Run Metres per game at 1506 and score 0.7 tries for every Linebreak against their opponents.
  • Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has scored 3 tries in his last 3 games against Parra.

Head to Head

Parramatta dominate the recent head to head numbers against New Zealand having won four of the last five match ups dating back to the beginning of the 2019 season.

It was though the Warriors who tasted the most recent success taking a 46-10 victory in their only match up last season at Commbank.

New Zealand Warriors Form

The Warriors steadied the ship with a win last weekend against the Tigers after two consecutive, agonising losses.

Making finals is not out of the realm of possibility but their run home after this weekend is purely top 8 teams.

The success of the Warriors this season has rested purely on their defence. In losing games they have allowed their opponent to score an average of 28.5 points whilst in their wins that number drops drastically down to 13.75.

New Zealand Warriors Team News

Massive news for the Warriors with halfback Shaun Johnson and Fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad both returning from injury.

RTS moves back to the wing with Ed Kosi to the reserves. Te Maire Martin also drops out to accommodate Johnson. Tom Ale joins the bench in place of Jackson Ford who is out with a knee complaint.

Parramatta Eels Form

Parramatta’s season is well and truly over but there are a number of players that are playing for their contracts. Unfortunately you wouldn’t know it given their on-field performances.

In their loss against the Storm last weekend, Parra enjoyed the majority of Possession and Territory while having 43 Tackles Inside 20m of their opposition.

They could not turn those advantages into points though and instead allowed the Storm to dictate the middle of the field with 8 Linebreaks leading to tries. They have now lost 6 in a row and 11 of their last 12.

Verdict

The Warriors have been a winning team the past month but goalkicking hasn't been comprehensive. Now coming up against a team who have struggled defensively they will dominate all aspects.
