The Warriors were pipped at the bell last weekend against the Raiders 20-18 and now have only won 1 of their last 4 games. Finals are effectively out of reach for them but there is still a lot of pride left on the table.

In the loss to Canberra Goal Line defence was again left lacking as both teams used simple crash plays to score the majority of their tries.

Neither team had especially high Run Metres which is normally attributed to dominance of attack, rather the game was a grind with Penalties and Errors giving opportunities to get into scoring positions.

New Zealands once feared defensive strategy is now all but gone and without Shaun Johnson in the lineup the attack is at times stagnant.

After two consecutive wins in Round 15 and 16 the Tigers have returned to their losing ways, dropping 4 games on the trot.

In each of those 4 games Wests have allowed their opponent to score 40 or more points in poor displays of defence all over the park.

Alex Seyfarth returns to the bench following a head knock with David Klemmer out of the side due to an ankle injury. Reuben Porter is the new backrower with John Bateman also out.
