NRL draw released for 2020 Season

The NRL has released its draw ahead of next week's season resumption with a truncated fixture set to showcase the game's greatest rivalries, including a revamped State of Origin schedule.

The remainder of the 2020 season will be a 20-round format in total, with the NRL grand final set be held in Sydney on October 25.

Notable draw details include:
  • Key rivalries all featuring twice across season
  • The Anzac match between the Dragons and Roosters will now be played on August 6 in round 13 on the anniversary of the Battle of Lone Pine
  • The grand final rematch between the Roosters and Raiders will be held on a Thursday night in round 10

State of Origin will be played in November after the NRL season is completed.

Acting NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said "everyone has fought so hard" to get rugby league into a position to make a successful May 28 return.

"After months of careful preparation and planning, the NRL Telstra Premiership is back and will be faster and tougher than ever before," Abdo said.

"Everyone has fought so hard to get the game back on the field.

"There are new fixtures and new venues, but when the players take the field, the desire to win will be that much higher given the sacrifices made to this point.

"The schedule of 18 uninterrupted weeks of football combined with the new rules to make the game faster, will deliver the heart-pounding entertainment fans expect."
