The Bulldogs lost their opening six games before scoring a last gasp victory over a besieged Cronulla Sharks outfit 18-12. 

Canterbury then lost their next five games before they turned out their best performance of the year last weekend.

The Dogs trounced an out-of-sorts St George Illawarra Dragons side 28-6 to give hope of avoiding the wooden spoon.

Corey Allan and Jayden Okunbor are set to return next weekend, with Raymond Faitala-Mariner due back in around a month.
