Parramatta Eels vs Manly Sea Eagles Preview

Manly are missing Daly Cherry-Evans in the side due to Origin, but a bigger loss for the Eels is them being without Mitch Moses and Zac Lomax. Take the Sea Eagles to win 13+ and for the Eels Team Total to stay under.

Head to Head

These two teams have met 13 times since the start of the 2019 season with Manly just edging in front with a 7-6 record.

The Sea Eagles have won the last two games straight including a 26-12 victory earlier this season at 4 Pines Park.

The Game Total has gone Over in nine of 13 games including six of the last eight. The last two games have finished with 14 point win margins with the slight majority of the 13 matchups all being 13+ margins.

Parramatta have won three straight against Manly at Commbank Stadium.

Parramatta Eels Form

Parramatta secured their third win of the season last weekend with a 28-6 victory over the Newcastle Knights which pulled them off the bottom of the ladder, by just one point of differential over the Titans.

Despite everything that has happened so far through the first third of the season, the Eels are just 3 competition points (and a hefty for and against) behind the Cowboys in 8th spot. The league this year is on another level of parity.

Parramatta almost held the Knights to nil, allowing a try in the 76th minute of the game. The Linebreaks were 6-3, Run Metres 1637-1341 and Tackles Inside 20 34-27, everything in favour of the Eels.

Parramatta Eels Team News

Manly Sea Eagles Form

Manly steadied their season with a convincing 24-6 win over the North QLD Cowboys in Townsville last weekend. They have now won two of their last three after a three game losing streak threatened to derail their 2025 campaign.

Since we crowed about Manly having the best home record in the NRL over the past five years they have lost three in a row at 4 Pines Park with the two wins coming on the road.

The Sea Eagles had just 36% of territory in the first half of their game against the Cowboys but did well to defend their line against 29 tackles, allowing just 1 try in the first 40 minutes.

Manly are ranked 5th in the NRL in Linebreaks and Run Metres.

Manly Sea Eagles Team News

Daly Cherry-Evans is the only player for Manly to be included in the Origin teams with Tom Trbojevic being overlooked and Haumole Olakau’atu in the extended squad.

Jake Arthur comes in as the replacement halfback while Jazz Tevaga moves from hooker to lock following the concussion of Jake Trbojevic last weekend. Jake Simpkin is the new number 9.

Matt Lodge comes onto the bench after an impressive showing in reserve grade last weekend.
