Cronulla Sharks vs Canterbury Bulldogs Predictions

Cronulla are huge favourites here but I am staying away from the handicap market.

The Bulldogs have inexperienced players out wide on their left edge. I am backing Jesse Ramien and Briton Nikora in the tryscoring markets.

  • Cronulla Sharks’ Jesse Ramien and Briton Nikora scored tries last week.
  • Cronulla Sharks have won 6 of their last 7 games against Canterbury Bulldogs.
  • Canterbury Bulldogs have conceded an average of 34 points a game this season.
  • Canterbury Bulldogs have lost 20 of their last 22 games.
  • Canterbury Bulldogs have lost by 12+ points in their last 7 games.
  • Canterbury Bulldogs have lost by 24+ points in 4 of their last 5 games.

Head to Head

Canterbury Bulldogs have a 58-44 advantage against Cronulla Sharks with 2 draws in 104 games.

Cronulla have won six of the last seven including 20-18 last season.

Cronulla Sharks Form

Cronulla started the season with a 32-18 win against the Dragons. They have now lost four of their last five.

There were excuses in a 12-10 loss against Canberra and 28-4 loss against Parramatta. They bounced back with a convincing 48-10 win against the Cowboys.

The Sharks then led the Roosters 18-4 with 20 minutes to go before a late capitulation, going go down 26-18. It was John Morris’ last game in charge with Josh Hannay taking over until the end of the season.

Cronulla blew another lead in a 26-22 defeat in Newcastle last week. They led 22-20 with four minutes to go before conceding a late try.

Verdict

Jesse Ramien and Briton Nikora scored tries for the Sharks last week. They should get plenty of chances to score against a Bulldogs side leaking tries at an alarming rate.
