It's been a brilliant start to the season for the Rabbitohs, winning four of their five games, with their lone loss coming on the road against Cronulla.

Souths have been gutsy and showcased immense fight in all of their performances this year, with all four of their wins coming by a 1-12 margin.

Despite losing the likes of Cody Walker, Jamie Humphries and Mikaele Ravalawa last week, the Rabbitohs still managed to hold off the Roosters, emerging triumphant by a 20-14 score. Latrell and Jayden Sullivan combined well in a makeshift halves pairing and have been given the nod again by Bennett in Perth.

Alex Johnston returns on the wing after missing last week with a rib injury, with Euan Aitken also back to play his first game of the season at centre.

It was a dire start to the season for the Cowboys, leaking 42 and 36 points in defeats to the Sea Eagles and Sharks, while they were also upstaged 26-16 in the derby against Brisbane.

However, to their credit, North Queensland have turned things around over the last fortnight, toppling the Raiders 30-20 at home before holding off a late charge from Penrith to record a 22-18 upset as $4.40 outsiders.

The Cowboys' outside backs repeatedly got them out of trouble against the Panthers, with Robert Derby, Murray Taulagi, Scott Drinkwater, Jaxon Purdue and Viliami Vailea having the most runs out of any player in the team.
