Wests Tigers vs Canberra Raiders Preview

The Tigers ended a winless run last weekend but I think the Raiders will be too much for them on Sunday. Canberra dominate this fixture historically and I think that will remain the case.

Head to Head

Canberra got a 20-point victory ove the Wests Tigers in round 2 of the 2024 season making it eight wins in a row against the club.

Canberra have beaten Wests in 14 of 16 matches, dating back to the 2014 season.

Wests Tigers Form

Wests broke their 9 game losing streak against the Gold Coast last weekend, beating the Titans 18-10 after being down 6-10 at the half.

A 76th-minute try by Fonua Pole sealed the game for the visitors, finally getting their third win of the season and sending the Coast to the bottom of the ladder.

Attacking and defensive combinations are still lacking for the Benji Marshall’s men, conceding the third-most run metres (1,514.8) per game and the fourth-most linebreaks (5.5/G).

Scoring has also been a major issue all season with a real lack of creativity in their attacking 20m averaging just 15.8 points per game.

Wests Tigers Team News

Api Koroisau goes back to hooker with Lachlin Galvin coming back into the halves. Tallyn Da Silva will go back to the bench.

Kit Laulilii will come onto the bench and Adam Doueihi is lurking in the the reserves after a successful return in NSW Cup last week.

Canberra Raiders Form

Canberra were disappointing in their loss to the Cowboys at GIO Stadium on Friday, going down to North Queensland 34-16, despite their opponents being out of form heading into the match.

Inexperience and soft mistakes which led to points hurt the Raiders as they still progress this season in a development period.

With 41 tackles inside the Cowboys 20m, more tries would have been expected considering the Cowboys have one of the worst defences in the NRL.

Canberra Raiders Team News

Despite the loss to the Cowboys last week, Ricky Stuart has named the same starting side as round 15.
