Scotland went down 28-4 to Italy in their opening group match with Lachlan Walmsley getting a late consolation try.

At the 2017 Rugby League World Cup, Scotland lost to Tonga and New Zealand before drawing with Samoa in the group stages.

In the build up to this year's RLWC, Scotland drew 30-30 with Jamaica and lost 28-4 to England.
