Autumn Nations Cup Format

The Autumn Nations Cup involves eight teams split into two groups of four.

Each team plays the other in the group once over the first three weeks of action – it all starts on Friday 13 November 2020.

After those three weeks, each team plays the equivalent finishers of the other group, e.g. top of Group A plays top of Group B. Second in Group A plays second in Group B and so forth. This will decide the final placings of the eight-team tournament.

Autumn Nations Cup Predictions

England are rightly favourites, but why? The answer is simple. They play two of their three group matches at home (against Georgia and Ireland) and travel to Wales who are in poor form.

The English are very likely to top their group, as is France likely to top Group B. Should that indeed occur what is technically the final will be played at Twickenham. Were it to be in France it could have been a different story.

At even money England look a shoe-in for the title. Ireland and France could upset the odds but it would require them to win at Twickenham.
