Wales host Italy at the Parc Y Scarlets in their final Autumn Nations Cup match on Saturday. The match will determine who finishes sixth in the competition.

Neither side has enjoyed 2020 so ending the season on a high will do plenty for their confidence.

Wales have lost six of their last seven matches with their only win coming against Georgia two weeks ago.

Last week Wales were beaten 24-13 at home by England. It was a vastly improved performance from the hosts as they started to show some of the quality from the last few years.

On the opening weekend of the 2020 Six Nations Wales beat Italy 42-0 at the Principality Stadium.

Wayne Pivac has made nine changes to the side that lost to England. The biggest of the lot is the return of the influential Justin Tupiric at flank. 

There is a new half-back pairing as Lloyd Williams and Dan Biggar make way for Kieran Hardy and Callum Sheedy. George North gets a chance at centre in place of Nick Tompkins.

Italy Form


Italy finished bottom of the 2020 Six Nations after losing all five matches. Their form hasn’t improved much in the Autumn Nations Cup with two defeats in their two matches – they did get awarded the victory for the called off match against Fiji.

Last week Italy were poor as they went down 36-5 against a second string French outfit. That was preceded by 28-17 loss to Scotland at home.

Franco Smith is likely to stick with his youth policy for the final match of the Autumn Nations Cup. They have no injury concerns from last week so could send out the same side.
