The British & Irish Lions hit the road again in 2025. This time they will tour Australia; they won their last series 'Down Under' in 2013.
The B+I Lions tours remain one of the most iconic tours in rugby union. It is one of the most watched series after the Rugby World Cup as it captivates an audience across the British Isles.
The last time the Lions went on tour was in 2021 when they lost a very controversial series 2-1 against the defending world champions, South Africa. While there was plenty of drama on and off the field, the entire tour was played behind closed doors with COVID-19 still at the forefront of everyone's mind.
2025 promises to be very different and a fast-improving Wallabies side makes for an interesting tour. 12 months ago, many were questioning whether it was worth touring Australia given their on-field struggles and performances, but under Joe Schmidt the Aussies showed some good improvement in 2024.
The Lions embark on the 10-match tour in mid-June 2025, although their first game (against Argentina) takes place in Dublin on 20 June. Theirs first game in Australia is against the Western Force on 28 June.
In total, the B+I Lions will play six games (five in Australia) before the first Test on 19 July. The second Test is on 26 July and the third on 2 August.
While the venues and opposition have been decided for all the fixtures, kick off times have yet to be confirmed. The B+I Lions squad is expected to be announced by Andy Farrell from mid to late April 2025.
