Leinster vs Leicester Predictions
A mouth-watering clash awaits us as two giants clash in the quarter finals. Leinster are probably the best team on the planet at the moment and Leicester are the defending English champions and have been in terrific form of late. The Irish backdrop will prove to be a tough visit for the English side.

- Head-to-Head
- Leinster Form
- Leicester Form
- Leinster are unbeaten in their last 21 matches in all competitions
- Leinster have not covered the -15 handicap in their last 2 matches in all competitions
- Leicester have won 6 matches in a row in all competitions
- Leicester have covered the +15 handicap in their last 9 matches in all competitions
Head-to-Head
Leinster have won the previous three meetings. The latest result saw Leinster win 23-14 at Leicester in 2022.
Leinster Form
The Leinster are unbeaten this season in a run that stretches to 21 games now. They have won all of their matches in the Champions Cup this season.
Recent form includes a 43-14 home win against the Dragons and a 47-27 away win at Edinburgh. A surprise 22-22 home draw to the Stormers would follow.
Leinster beat Ulster 30-15 in the last match. The Irish derby was a hard fought affair with ill-discipline costing Ulster. Leinster did what they do best and controlled the match and ultimately their quality shines through as the match goes on as they ran in three tries to secure the win.
The Leinster will have the same squad available with the addition of Garry Ringrose. Caelan Doris and Josh van der Flier will be assessed just before the match. Talismanic fly-half Johnny Sexton remains unavailable.
Leicester Form
Leicester have seen a revival of their fortunes of late since their coach departed to become England’s coach. The Tigers are currently on a six-match winning streak and are a force to be reckoned with.
A 48-27 win at home to Bath preceded a 26-5 away win at Gloucester. They would then go on to beat Bristol at home by 46-24.
Their most recent result was a 16-6 home win against Edinburgh. Torrential rain evened the playing field as the Tigers ground out an expected win. Kicking dominated the day given the conditions as Jasper Wiese scored the only try of the match in the second half for Leicester.
We expect the same squad to be selected as the likes of Ollie Chessum is ruled out for the season. Ollie Cracknell and Gary Porter will be assessed after coming off injured in the last match. Matt Scott, Ben Youngs and Chris Ashton remain unavailable.
Verdict
I anticipate the match to be much tighter than expected given just how good Leicester have been of late so I am backing them to cover the +15 handicap
