Northampton Saints have done extremely well to reach the final but this will be a huge test for them. Bordeaux are unbeaten in the Champions Cup this season, so I am backing them to take the title.

Head to Head

In their only previous meeting, Bordeaux won by four points.

Northampton Saints Form

The Northampton Saints played at home in their round of 16 and quarter-final matches in the European Rugby Champions Cup this season, beating Clermont 46-21 and Castres 51-16 before causing an upset win over Leinster 37-34 away from home in the semi-finals.

Northampton lost 33-0 to the Leicester Tigers before defeating Clermont 46-24, Castres 51-16, Bristol 48-31, and Saracens 28-24 in their last five home games.

The Northampton Saints have regained form during the finals stage of their season, but they are likely to be without some key players who played a crucial role in their semi-final victory against Leinster.

Northampton Saints News & Injuries

Curtis Langdon, James Ramm, and Alex Coles are doubtful starters after picking up injuries against Saracens.

Fin Smith has scored 71 points in this edition of the Investec Champions Cup.

Tommy Freeman has scored nine tries in the competition thus far, whilst Henry Pollock has dotted down over the try line seven times.

Bordeaux Form

Bordeaux had the advantage of playing their round of 16, quarter-final, and semi-final matches of the Investec Champions Cup at home this season, defeating Ulster 43-31, Munster 47-29, and rivals Toulouse 35-18.

Bordeaux lost 36-32 to Bayonne, beat Perpignan 29-17, lost 36-31 to Racing 92, and defeated Pau 26-22 before losing 46-27 to Montpellier in their last five away fixtures.

The Bordeaux Begles have reached their first European Rugby Champions Cup final without losing a match, although they have not been at their best away from home lately.

Bordeaux News & Injuries

Winger Damian Penaud, who has scored 12 tries in the 2024/25 European Rugby Champions Cup, looks set to return to action after recovering from an ankle injury.

Matthieu Jalibert has scored 71 points for his club this season.

Louis Bielle-Biarrey has scored eight tries for Bordeaux in the competition thus far.
