Bath vs Exeter Predictions

Exeter will be looking to capitalise on a Bath outfit who have lost their last seven matches. My best bet is for the Chiefs to cover the -10 handicap.

  • Bath have lost their last 7 matches (Premiership).
  • Exeter have won 12 of their last 13 matches against Bath (all competitions).
  • Exeter have covered the -10 handicap in their last 4 matches against Bath (Premiership).

Head to Head

Bath hold a 12-16 lead in their last 29 encounters against Exeter with one draw.

Their most recent clash was in March where Exeter won 38-16 at the Recreation Ground.

Bath Form

Bath have been abysmal this season and are at the bottom of the table after losing their opening seven matches.

The coastal club's recent form includes an away 31-17 defeat to Harlequins and followed it up with a home match against Wasps where they lost 27-17. They were then back on the road where they lost 40-23 to Leicester Tigers.

Bath's most recent fixture was in the Premiership Rugby Cup where they went down by 71-10 to Gloucester at Kingsholm. Bath fielded a youthful team and it showed as they were dismantled by the more experienced outfit.

Bath Injuries & Team News

Bath gave their players a rest in their last fixture and with the aid of the Autumn International break they will be well rested. We still await team news.

Beno Obano will be out as he is still recovering from an ACL rupture.

Exeter Form

Exeter have made a good start to the season and find themselves in fourth place after eight matches.

The Chiefs travelled to Gloucester Rugby and came away with a 16-13 win which preceded a narrow 15-14 loss at home to Newcastle Falcons. They followed this up with a 33-27 home loss to Bristol Bears in the Premiership Rugby Cup.

Last time out Exeter suffered a 45-19 defeat to Gloucester in the Premiership Cup. Youth was given a run with a number of players on international duty.

Exeter Injuries & Team News

Exeter rotated their squad during their Premiership Rugby Cup fixtures of late and will also have a rested squad. No new injuries or suspensions have been identified as yet.

Verdict

Bath have had a horrid season, losing their last seven league matches. Exeter are backed to win by more than 10 as they look to keep the pressure on those above them.
