The 2024 Rugby Championship kicks off on 10 August with South Africa in Australia and New Zealand hosting Argentina. The fixtures will repeat in round two.

New Zealand have long dominated the Rugby Championship and are the defending champions. In 2023, the All Blacks won all three games to lift the title. The tournament was cut in half due to the World Cup later in the year.

South Africa were the last team to win the tournament other than New Zealand, and that was back in 2019. The back-to-back world champions are favourites to win it ahead of New Zealand, priced at 1.57 with bet365.

It is expected to be tight at the top of the table, much as the World Cup final was last year between the Springboks and All Blacks. However, facing New Zealand at home on two successive weekend's certainly plays nicely into the hands of South Africa.

Australia and Argentina are well behind both of the other two teams, but they also both have the quality and ability to cause an upset on a one-off weekend. South Africa will be concerned given their poor record in Australia.
