Argentina vs Australia Predictions
Argentina are always a very tough nut to crack on home soil so the Wallabies certainly won’t have everything their own way. The hosts will also be confident after winning against Scotland.

Head to Head
Australia have won four of their last six matches against Argentina. The other two ended in draws during the 2020 season. Los Pumas have not beaten Australia since their 23-19 success in 2018.
Last year the Aussies beat Argentina 27-8 and 32-17 in the Rugby Championship. Both matches were played in Australia.
Argentina Form
Argentina had a poor 2021 season, losing each one of their Rugby Championship fixtures. Worse yet, they didn’t really compete much in any of their matches.
The end of year tour was similarly disappointing, while beating Italy, they were convincing losers to France and Ireland.
The year of 2022 has been kinder however. Scotland toured Argentina in June with the hosts taking the first test 26-18. The Scots bounced back to win the second test 29-6 which took it to a decider.
The third Test was a see-saw battle from start to finish but Los Pumas managed a last minute score to secure a 34-31 victory. That series success will give them plenty of confidence ahead of facing Australia.

Argentine head coach, Michael Cheika knows this Australian side very well. He will opt for a physical pack knowing that it is where the Aussies are at their weakest.

It is hard to argue that Australia have improved significantly under head coach Dave Rennie. There are still many weaknesses in the side but they did beat South Africa twice in 2021 so they are capable.
Despite the improved performances, results have not quite on Australia’s way. After a decent Rugby Championship showing, they last 15-13 to Scotland, 32-15 to England and 29-28 to Wales on their European November tour.
England traveled to Australia for the mid-year Test series. The Wallabies came out firing, winning the first Test 30-28 at the Optus Stadium.
Unfortunately results went against them in the final two matches with England winning 25-17 and 21-17 to claim the series. It is crucial that the Wallabies get the points against Los Pumas in the next two weeks if they are to stand any chance of winning the championship title.

Dave Rennie will stick with the majority of the side that played against England. Fullback remains a major concern a year out from the World Cup with Tom Banks looking the likely option while Kurtley Beale recovers from injury.
