Australia vs England Predictions

Australia are once again slight favourites to win the match and in so doing the series. I am sticking with England, my best bet being them to get within three points at even money.

Head to Head

England have now won nine of their last 10 matches against Australia. The current series is level at 1-1 after the hosts won the first Test and England leveled matters last week.

Australia Form

Australia came into this series having lost their last eight matches to England. They turned that head to head upside down by winning the first test 30-28 to take a series lead.

Last week the visitors however hit back, winning 25-17 at the Suncorp Stadium. It was a slow start for the hosts and unlike the previous week, they failed to haul in the deficit.

Australia Injuries & Team News

Taniela Topou returned to the side last week after a few months out injured. He should start again with Allan Alaalatoa also passed fit.

England Form

England arrived in Australia with high hopes after dominating their opposition in recent years. Despite holding a decent lead in the first Test, England fell apart in the second half.

This allowed Australia to come roaring back and take a commanding lead. Two late tries ensured it was just a two point loss for England and something to build on.

They did bounce back to level the series at the Suncorp Stadium last week, winning 25-17. It was a test the visitors dominated for large periods and starved Australia of turnover possession. This week will be the series decider and momentum is with the visitors.

England Injuries & Team News

Eddie Jones won’t be looking to make many changes to the side that won last week. There seems to be a touch of disharmony in the squad but last week showed they are capable of pulling off big results.

England won the 2nd Test and can claim the series with a win in the third. I am backing them to get within three points with a win on the cards.
