England have won all nine previous encounters against Japan. Their last meeting came in the 2023 Rugby World Cup, a game England won 34-12.
Japan Form
Japan have not played any international rugby since being knocked out of the 2023 Rugby World Cup at the pool stage.
During the World Cup, Japan beat Chile and Samoa but suffered defeats to England and Argentina. They failed to progress, but the odds were always against them in that pool.

Japan are expected to select a strong side for this home clash against England.
England Form
England have struggled for any sort of form or consistency for a couple of years at least. At the World Cup, they defied the odds to reach the semi-final where they lost by a point to eventual champions, South Africa.
While they stuck to the basics well, there was nothing flash about the way they played. However, it gave them something to build on.
During the Six Nations this year, England just managed a win in Italy before scraping a home win by two points against Wales. That was followed by a 30-21 loss in Scotland.
England were very good in their final two games though, beating Ireland 23-22 at Twickenham and taking France to the bring in Paris, losing 33-31.
England Injuries & News
Steve Borthwick is expected to select a good side but there may well but some new faces as they look to build towards the future.
