Tonga have only played one game since the conclusion of the 2023 Rugby World Cup. During that World Cup campaign, Tonga lost to Ireland, Scotland and South Africa before beating Romania in their final game.

Upon their return to the field last week, Tonga were average at home, losing 36-14 to Italy. A few facets of their game would have pleased them, but overall, Tonga were comfortably outplayed.

Spain will be pretty confident coming into this fixture. They did not partake in the World Cup last year, but they did qualify, unfortunately, a technicality got them disqualified.

However, Spain will be looking to build towards 2027 now and they have a team that looks pretty good on paper. In Rugby Europe competition, Spain have been in decent form, beating Germany and Romania. They lost heavily to Georgia and narrowly against Portugal away.

Last week Spain were very impressive in Samoa, losing the game 34-30. It would have been an historic result had they managed to pull off the win, but they have another chance against Tonga this weekend.
