South Africa are odds-on favourites to win the 2023 World Cup after advancing to the semi-finals.

Ireland and France were joint-favourites heading into last weekend’s quarter-final matches, but both nations bowed out.

France’s exit came at the hands of South Africa, and as a result the Springboks now head up the outright betting at 10/1 with Coral.

“The Rugby really was spectacular, and South Africa were the team that really captured the punters imagination with their dramatic victory over France,” Coral’s Lewis Knowles told FreeTips.com.

“They are now 10/11 to retain the Webb Ellis Cup, but New Zealand put in a fantastic performance to knock Ireland out on Saturday evening, and they aren’t without their supporters either at 6/5.

“A few patriotic punters have backed England at 12/1 to go all the way, but based on what we’ve seen during the tournament, it will take something special for Scott Borthwick’s side to get past the Springboks in Saturday’s semi-final.”
