France vs England Predictions

England are on the rise as performances steadily improve while France have been inconsistent. Should France be near their best in Paris, I don’t see England getting close. It is a tough one to call but I fancy France to cover the -6 handicap.

France have won their last two games against England. Last season France ran riot at Twickenham, winning the match 53-10.

France Form

France have been inconsistent throughout this Six Nations campaign after going into the tournament as favourites. It all began poorly when they suffered a heavy defeat at home to Ireland.

While the French bounced back to beat Scotland 20-16 in round two, they were poor in round three where they drew 13-all at home against Italy.

Last week, France were back to their best, at least in the second half, as they saw off Wales 45-24 at the Principality Stadium. While the French should be good enough to win at home, their recent performances have put some doubt in my mind.

France will not want to drop this game at home so while the title race is all but over, they will not risk it by resting too many players.

England Form

England are still in a rebuilding phase despite their impressive Rugby World Cup run last year. They have struggled at times in the Six Nations but have also produced the goods at times.

In round one, England struggled past Italy by three points in Rome before beating Wales by two points at home. They then lost 30-21 to Scotland at Murrayfield.

Last week everyone expected Ireland to seal the title at Twickenham but England produced probably their best performance of the last two years. They won the game 23-22.

England Injuries & Team News

Steve Borthwick will want to keep the continuity going with his squad and they can still win the title should they win and Scotland to them a favour. However, they will know their chances before kick off.
