France vs Wales Predictions & Tips - Value on France in the handicap market

France are a world class outfit and favourites to win at home against Wales. Despite Wales’ good run thus far, France will provide a much tougher challenge. My best bet is for France to win by more than seven points and keep their title hopes alive.

France and Wales are level at 3-3 over their last six matches. France have however won their last two against Wales, including a 38-21 victory in Paris during the 2020 Autumn Nations Cup.

France are third on the Six Nations table with two victories from their three matches. The French have a game in hand against Scotland after a postponement in week three. There has not been confirmation of when that match will be played.

Regardless of that fixture, France must win against Wales to have a chance of winning the Six Nations title. They began their Six Nations campaign with an easy 50-10 victory in Italy.

That was followed by a hard fought 15-13 win against Ireland in Dublin. Thereafter COVID-19 struck the French squad which led to the Scotland postponement.

Last week France returned to action where they lost 23-20 against England at Twickenham. After leading for almost the entire match, France let it slip right at the end. 

France are unchanged from last week’s defeat to England. Despite defeat, France performed well and should have too much quality at home against Wales.

Wales are in prime position to claim the 2021 Six Nations title against all odds. This after only winning one of their five matches last season, Wales are now four from four.

There has been plenty of fortune along the way for Wales. They beat Ireland 21-16 at home and Scotland 25-24 away on the opening two weekends. In both matches, Ireland and Scotland were the better side but received red cards which allowed Wales to get back into it.

Wales then produced a stunning performance to beat England 40-24 at home before seeing off Italy 48-7 last week in Rome. With 19 points, Wales are nine clear of France who have a game in hand.

Should Wales lose but get a bonus point for losing by seven or less, and France fail to get a four-try bonus point, the Welsh will be crowned champions. 

Head coach, Wayne Pivac has made just the one change to Wales starting lineup. That change sees lock Adam Beard return from injury.
