Scotland are favourites at home and have won their last three games against England. They have actually only lost once in their last six against the English. I am backing Scotland to cover the -4 handicap.

Scotland have won four of their last six against England, including the last three games. All three wins were by six or less points.

Scotland come into this round three fixture with one win and a defeat to their name. On the opening weekend, an impressive Scotland first half performance saw them hold on to beat Wales 27-26 away from home.

A fortnight ago, Scotland perhaps should have done better at Murrayfield, but France came away with a 20-16 victory. It will be a had loss for Scotland to take who now have it all to do if they wish to remain in contention.

On a positive note, Scotland have won their last three matches against England. The games are normally very tight with no more than seven points separating the two sides in the last five matches.

After losing at home to France, Scotland will be keen to avoid back-to-back losses at Murrayfield. A very strong side is expected from Gregor Townsend.

England Form

England are second on the Six Nations table after two matches with eight points. While winning both games, they have failed to pick up a bonus point in either.

It has also not been convincing with their opening two games being two of their easier ones. On the opening weekend of the tournament, England just held on to beat Italy 27-24 in Rome.

Last time out, England again just held on, beating Wales 16-14 at home. That result could easily have gone the other way, but Scotland at Murrayfield will be their toughest task yet.

Steve Borthwick will certainly go with what he believes is a full-strength side this weekend. It is a crucial game to remain in the hunt for the championship.
