Scotland vs Wales Predictions & Tips - Scotland tipped for narrow Six Nations victory

Scotland come into this match off the back of a first away win over England in 18 years. Their confidence will be sky-high so my best bet is for them to win by less than 12 points at home.

Wales have won 12 of their last 14 matches against Scotland. Scotland however won their last encounter in the 2020 Six Nations 14-10 at the Principality Stadium.

Scotland impressed during the 2020 Six Nations and finished fourth on the table, level on points with third placed Ireland. Their campaign last year included superb victories over France at home and Wales away.

On the opening weekend of the 2021 Six Nations, Scotland caused a huge upset by beating England 11-6 at Twickenham. That was the Scots first away victory over England in 18 years.

Scotland have the forward pack to dominate a Wales side that have struggled since the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Should the Scots get this win at home, their search for a first Six Nations title will be well underway.

Centre, Cameron Redpath made a brilliant debut last weekend but has been ruled out for a few weeks with a neck injury.

There are two further injuries to Scotland with wing, Sean Maitland and flank, Jamie Ritchie also out. Blade Thomson and Darcy Graham will come into the side.

Wales endured a torrid 2020 as they finished fifth in the Six Nations tournament. Much of that was put down to the players getting used to Wayne Pivac as coach after Warren Gatland departed following a 12-year term.

They got their 2021 campaign off to a fine start with a 21-16 victory over Ireland at the Principality Stadium. While there was certainly improvement, Ireland did play 60 minutes with 14 men.

Wales struggled to break down the 14 men of Ireland, but did dominate as the game progressed and Ireland clearly tired.

Wales have a few injury concerns ahead of this clash. Both centres, George North and Johnny Williams are out with niggles while wing, Hallam Amos has also been ruled out.

Veteran utility back, Liam Williams will come in after serving a three-match suspension.  Gareth Davies will start at scrumhalf after Tomas Williams failed to recover from the injury he picked up against Ireland.

Among the forwards, Josh Navidi and Dan Lydiate are injured so Aaron Wainwright will start at flank.
