Wales should win with ease at home but their struggles in terms of points scoring have been a major issue this season. They have scored under 10 points twice in their last four matches and have yet to score more than 20. My best bet is for Italy to lose by less than 27 points.

Wales are fifth on the Six Nations table but will hope a bonus point win can propel them up the table. They could quite conceivably end third should England and Scotland lose.

A heavy opening loss in Ireland was followed by a 20-17 home win over Scotland. Thereafter Wales lost 23-19 away to England and 13-9 at home to France last week.

The last two results could easily have gone in the Welsh favour but their lack of attacking quality clearly showed, especially against France.

The big news for Wales is the return of captain Alun Wyn Jones. The lock will play his 150th Test match.

Italy Form

Italy are heading for yet another wooden spoon the Six Nations. They have not won a match in the tournament since 2015, a streak of 35 matches.

Last week Italy were quite impressive, losing 33-22 at home to Scotland. It was a match the Italians targeted to get a result but in the end it was not to be.

Other than that Italy’s results have all been rather heavy defeats.

Italy will largely look at the same group that played well last week. There is certainly improvement in their ranks but they are still a very young side.
