The Chiefs will be looking for their first win of Super Rugby Aotearoa when they host the Crusaders at FMG Stadium on Saturday. The Crusaders suffered their first defeat of the season last week but I’m backing them to bounce back with a narrow victory.

Chiefs Form

The Chiefs have lost their opening six Super Rugby Aotearoa matches but they have all been by narrow margins. If not for a couple of tough calls they could easily have won their last two matches.

Two weeks ago the Chiefs held a comfortable advantage but allowed the Highlanders to win 33-31 in Hamilton. They lost 21-17 at the Blues last weekend.

Chiefs News

The Chiefs will likelly make changes to get some freshness into the starting line-up. Aaron Cruden will make his 100th appearance for the Chiefs if he plays on Saturday.

Crusaders Form

The Crusaders came flying out of the blocks in Super Rugby Aotearoa with a 39-25 victory over the Hurricanes. They then won 18-13 at home against the Chiefs and 40-20 at the Highlanders.

In their next match the Crusaders made it four wins from four as they saw off the Blues 25-15 at home. Despite showing some fantastic form the Crusaders fell at home for the first time in 36 matches last weekend as they went down 34-32 to the Hurricanes.

Crusaders News

The Crusaders have a number of injury concerns with full-back David Havili and loose forward Ethan Blackadder both out for the season.

The good news is that outside centre Braydon Ennor should be fit this week after missing out against the Hurricanes last weekend.

Chiefs vs Crusaders Head to Head

The Crusaders hold a 6-1 advantage over the Chiefs in their last seven matches. They last met in week three of Super Rugby Aotearoa where the Crusaders won 18-13 in Christchurch.

Chiefs vs Crusaders Odds

The Crusaders are available at 1.33 with the Chiefs paying 3.40 to win. A draw is priced at 26.00.

The handicap is set at 8 points with the Chiefs paying 2.00 and the Crusaders 1.83 with bet365. In the winning margin market the Crusaders are valued at 2.80 to win by between 1-12 points.

Chiefs vs Crusaders Match Up

The Crusaders can bounce back from their shock home defeat to the Hurricanes last weekend. They should be too strong for a Chiefs outfit lacking confidence, but as we saw a few weeks ago, the Chiefs tend to lift their performance against the Crusaders.
