The Hurricanes host the Blues at Sky Stadium in Wellington in the Super Rugby Aotearoa on Saturday. The Blues have already beaten the Hurricanes in the tournament and I expect them to do ot again.

Hurricanes Form

The Hurricanes have had a mixed start to the Super Rugby Aotearoa where they have won two and lost two of their opening four fixtures.

In the opening two weeks the Hurricanes suffered successive losses. First they went down 30-20 away to the Blues before losing 39-25 to the Crusaders.

Since then the Canes have beaten the Chiefs 25-18 away and then saw off the Highlanders 17-11 at home in a match that was heavily affected by the weather conditions.

Hurricanes News

After two wins the Hurricanes will want some continuity in selection but they'll be hopeful of welcoming back hooker Dane Coles. He will undergo a fitness test later this week.

Blues Form

The Blues have had an impressive start to the Super Rugby Aotearoa competition which has seen them pick up three wins from four matches.

They started the competition off with a fine display as they beat the Hurricanes 30-20 at Eden Park. This was followed by a trip to the Chiefs where they came away with a 24-12 victory before winning a tight contest against the Highlanders 27-24 at home.

In their last match the Blues lost a top of the table clash against the Crusaders. The 26-15 scoreline doesn't do the Blues justice as the two teams were within a couple of points of each other for most of the match.

Blues News

Eighth-man Hoskins Sotutu has been labeled a possible doubt. Other than him there are no further reported injuries.

Beauden Barrett returns to his old home ground and will certainly want to make an impression.

Hurricanes vs Blues Head to Head

The Hurricanes have a 13-7 advantage over the Blues in their last 20 meetings.

Their last encounter ended with the Blues winning 30-20 at Eden Park in the opening Super Rugby Aotearoa round.

Hurricanes vs Blues Odds

The Hurricanes are valued at 2.20 while the Blues are priced at 1.70 to win the match at bet365. The draw will pay 23.00 and the handicap market is set at 2 points.

Hurricanes vs Blues Match Up

The Blues have impressed this entire season while the Hurricanes have shown inconsistency. The set piece battle will always prove key but all eyes will  be on the return of Beauden Barrett to his old stomping ground.
