This season started with a defeat in Round 1 as Racing 92 went down 31-28 at Castres last weekend. It was a titanic battle away from home, one which Racing could have clinched had a call or two gone in their favour.

This is their first home game of the campaign and Racing will be eager to get off to a strong start in front of their home fans. Home form generally plays a crucial role in the Top 14 and Racing showed good form on home soil last season.

Racing 92 have a very good squad and will likely make a few changes to their side. They still have a few injury concerns and a couple of players have only recently returned from international duty.

Clermont had a very similar season to Racing 92 in 2023/24 but they could only finish eighth with 12 wins, two draws and 12 defeats. They ended just one point off the playoffs.

This season began with a bang at home as Clermont cruised to a 39-7 home win over Pau. While they were always expected to win that fixture, particularly at home, the performance was impressive, nonetheless.
