Edinburgh have looked nowhere near themselves without their international stars. The two games played during the Six Nations have both ended in defeat while Munster have won both of theirs.

Munster are currently fifth on the URC table after 11 matches. They have won six and lost five with their recent form drastically improved from early season.

In the URC, Munster have won four of their last five games, their only defeat in that run coming in late December when they went down 28-7 at home to Leinster. At the end of January, Munster beat the Dragons 38-19 before seeing off Scarlets 29-8 at home a fortnight ago.

This is a tough part of the season for all sides concerned considering the Six Nations is underway. Most teams (other than South African ones) are missing their internationals, or at least those that feature heavily for the national side.

Munster Injuries & Team News

Munster are missing some obvious players who are with the national side. However, I expect them to select a similar side to the one that beat the Scarlets last time out.

Edinburgh Form

Edinburgh are struggling this season, but they are in the dogfight to make the top eight. They are currently ninth with four wins and seven defeats in 11 matches.

A top eight finish would be a minimum expectancy from Edinburgh, although, a good couple of results and they could be in for a sixth or even fifth place finish.

However, Edinburgh’s form without their international stars has been concerning. They lost 22-17 at Zebre in their last fixture played on Valentines Day. The week prior, the Scots went down 30-24 at Scarlets, both games Edinburgh would usually fancy winning.

Edinburgh are also, like most others, without their international players. Their depth is not as strong as the Irish clubs, so they could be in for a long evening.
