Scarlets are at home and in fine form with seven wins from their last nine. The bookies have made the Sharks favourites so there is certainly value on the hosts in this one. I’m backing the Scarlets to get within five and perhaps win.

The Scarlets have struggled this season with just five wins from 15 matches in the URC. They are 14th on the table having also drawn one but lost nine.

More recently however the Scarlets have found some of their form, winning seven of their last nine in all competitions. While their last fixture saw them lose 49-41 away against Munster, Scarlets will have plenty of confidence this week.

The Sharks still have an outside chance of making the playoffs but they will need plenty to go their way. That includes needing a win in Wales, perhaps with a bonus point.

Currently the Sharks are seventh on the table, and while their form improved since Neill Powell took over, they have slumped to a couple of defeats recently.

The Durban-based outfit has lost three of their last four games, two of which were at home. After being thumped by the Stormers in Durban, the Sharks beat the Lions and then lost at home 31-24 to Ulster. That defeat all but ended their playoff homes. Last time out the Sharks lost 29-23 to the Stormers away.
