Ronnie O'Sullivan dispatched Jack Lisowski in quick time with a 6-1 quarter-final victory. In the form he has shown across the last two weeks, a -2.5 handicap should be no trouble for the Rocket once again against Barry Hawkins.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has won 12 of his previous 15 matches against Barry Hawkins.

Hawkins won earlier this year with a 3-1 victory in their Championship League match. O'Sullivan had won four in a row prior to that.

World number two Ronnie O'Sullivan ended 2020 by reaching the finals of the Scottish Open and the World Grand Prix, but lost in both deciders.

He went down 9-3 to Mark Selby in the Scottish Open final, and was comprehensively beaten 6-1 by Judd Trump in the final of the World Grand Prix.

O'Sullivan beat Ding Junhui in the opening round of The Masters in January, only to then lose to John Higgins in the second round.

At the latest Championship League event two weeks ago, O'Sullivan won his opening four games before losing three in a row.

O'Sullivan reached the final of last week's Welsh Open, dropping just two frames along the way. But he lost the decider 9-8 to Jordan Brown.

The Rocket made a winning start at the Players Championship on Tuesday when he defeated Ding Junhui 6-5. He thrashed Jack Lisowski 6-1 in the quarter-finals on Thursday.

Barry Hawkins Form

Barry Hawkins ended 2020 with a defeat to Ronnie O'Sullivan in the World Grand Prix, and has been busy in the opening two months of this year.

Hawkins reached the semi-finals of the German Masters before losing 6-5 to eventual champion Judd Trump in January.

He reached the second round of the Snooker Shootout at the start of February, and had a 5-7 win-loss record in two rounds of the Championship League. He did sign off with a win over O'Sullivan.

At last week's Welsh Open, the world number 18 exited at the last 16 stage after a 4-3 defeat to Shaun Murphy.

This week, at the Players Championship, Hawkins won 6-5 in a final frame decider against Yuelong Zhou. He then defeated Stuart Bingham 6-2 to reach the semi-finals.
